Review of Charlotte Tilbury Cosmetics Packaging
In this review, we will focus on the packaging of Charlotte Tilbury’s cosmetics products. The packaging of a product plays a crucial role in attracting and retaining customers, as it is often the first point of contact between the customer and the product.

Company: Charlotte Tilbury Beauty is a makeup and skincare company.
Products: All types of cosmetics including cleansers, toners, moisturizers, foundation, eye creams, lip care, and skin care kits. One of their product lines is the Pillow Talk Collection. Our review today is for the Pillow Talk Beautifying Face Palette. We received the product as part of a monthly Boxy Charm subscription box which provides health and beauty samples.
Type of Box: Charlotte Tilbury used a reverse tuck box. One interesting feature of the box is an extra die-cut slit on the bottom flap of the box which allows the box to stand up without falling over. This provides greater visibility when standing up on the shelf rather than lying flat.
Printing & Embellishments: They included a color label on the top flap of the box which illustrates the colors of the face palette. The entire package with the exception of the label was hot stamped with gold foil. The foil was easy to read and looked great on the pink paper.
Paper: 18 point pearlescent coverstock
Sustainability: Charlotte Tilbury Beauty has the Green Dot symbol on this box which means they pay a recovery and recycling company to oversee the sustainable responsible management of their packaging waste. On their website, they promote a program where consumers can return empty plastic jars from some of their products and receive 20% off a certain selection of products. Charlotte Tilbury partners with HANDLE, a company that prevents discarded beauty packaging from going to landfills. The materials are repurposed back into beauty packaging.
Charlotte Tilbury also included a symbol on the packaging of an open jar with numbers inside, in this case 18M. This tells the consumer that the opened product is good for 18 months.
Messaging: One side of the box included a message from Charlotte Tilbury and was also printed on the opposite side in French. “Pillow Talk is not just a colour, it’s a world! A beauty dream, a place to discover the most beautiful you!”.
Overall, a well-done package – eye catching and will stand up nicely on the shelf.
